Condition: climbs up to 1500 meters in altitude and 9 hours/day. Total walking time of up to 9 hours/day and 1200 meters in altitude on the descent.Technique: sure-footedness and a head for heights in the pathless, rocky and icy terrain are required for this high-altitude tour. Mastering the necessary crampon and ice ax techniques for climbing short firn flanks with a 40° steepness, as well as changing passages with crampons on ice and rock in the 3rd difficulty level are an advantage.


Process:

    Day 1: We meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Hotel Bergfreund (“near Rosi”) in Herbriggen, drive to Saas Fee and take the train to Mittelallalin. Ascent over the Fee glacier to the Allalinhorn (4.027). (Total walking time 5 hours, ascent and descent: 600 HM)2. Day 1: Travel by train to the Klein Matterhorn (3,883 m). From there we start on the Breithorn at 4,164 m and descend to the Guide Ayas Hütte at 3,425 m. (Total walking time 6 hours, ascent: 400 HM, descent: 850 HM)3. Day: In the morning we set off to Castor (4,221 m). We then descend over the southeast ridge to the Felikjoch and spend the night at the Quintino Sella hut at 3,584 m. (Total walking time: 6 hours, ascent: 800 m, descent: 650 m)4. Day: First we climb Il Naso (4,205 m), then follow the Balmenhorn (4,167 m) and the Vincent pyramid (4,215 m). Descent to the Gnifetti Hut (3,647 m). (Total walking time: 7 hours, ascent: 1,200 HM, descent: 1,400 HM)5. Day 1: We start very early with the ascent of the Ludwigshöhe at 4,341 m. Then follow Schwarzhorn (4,215 m), Parrotspitze (4,436 m) and Signalkuppe (4,554 m) with the Capanna Margherita, the highest mountain hut in Europe. (Total walking time: 9 hours, ascent: 1500 HM, descent: 700 HM)6. Day 1: We set off early for the Zumsteinspitze (4,563 m), the last 4,000m peak on our spaghetti circuit. Descent over the Grenzgletscher to the Monte Rosa Hütte (2,795 m) and with the Gornergratbahn back to Zermatt. (Total walking time: 9 hours, ascent: 500 HM, descent: 2300 HM)
