Around the Großglockner with Stüdlgrat

Character: One of the most beautiful combined glacier and rock tours in Austria.

Experience the Großglockner (3,798 m) from its most beautiful side and climb over the Stüdlgrat.

Duration: 4 days

Location: Kals am Großglockner

Participants: max. 2 people

Price per person: €1,390 for 2 people, €2,550 for 1 person

Condition: climbs up to 1000 meters in altitude and 6 hours / day. Total walking time of up to 6 hours/day and 1,900 vertical meters on the descent.

Technique: Sure-footedness and a head for heights in the pathless, rocky and icy terrain are required for this high-altitude tour. Mastering the necessary crampon and ice ax techniques for climbing short firn flanks with a 40° steepness, as well as changing passages with crampons on ice and rock in the 3rd difficulty level are an advantage.

Process:

Day 1: We meet at 12:00 p.m. at the Glocknerhaus in Heiligenblut and go together to the Oberwalderhütte. (Total walking time approx. 3 hours, 900 m elevation gain) Day 2: From the Oberwalderhütte we reach the Stüdlhütte via the Romariswandkopf. (Total walking time: approx. 6.5 hours, ascent: 500 HM) Day 3: Early in the morning we reach the start of the Stüdlgrat via the Teischnitzkees. There, wonderful climbing awaits us on the 3rd degree of difficulty up to the highest point in Austria. The descent is via the normal route to the Erzherzog Johann Hütte. (Total walking time: approx. 6 hours, ascent: 1000 meters in altitude) Day 4: Descent via the Salmhütte back to the Glocknerhaus where we have lunch together and say goodbye.
